QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must hold a current managing cosmetologist's license.
2. Must enjoy working with the elderly and possess a positive ability to work with others.
3. Must be in good health, no lifting restrictions, neat and clean.
4. Must be willing and able to learn.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Schedules appointments with residents or responsible parties.
2. Performs the following services: Shampoo & Set, Hair Cuts, Permanents, Tinting, Manicures and Oil Treatments
3. Assists the residents from their room to the beauty shop and back to their rooms with the help of the nursing staff as necessary. Before taking a resident to the beauty shop, the beautician should check with the charge nurse regarding the resident's current condition.
4. Provides the bookkeeper with a record of services provided to the residents. This is due at the end of every month.
5. Keeps beauty shop neat and orderly.
6. Orders and delivers all supplies needed for the beauty shop.
7. Must project a positive attitude and promote the facility and its staff/residents in a positive manner.
8. Is responsible for proper and safe storage in the beauty shop of all harmful substances.
9. During the normal course of a conversation with the resident while performing a service, ask resident about the nursing home, its care, food, housekeeping, and activities. Report any feedback received to a superior.
